In 2017 it is also marked by the half century, that's right its 50th Aniversary it's going to be extra special. If you saw the schedule before you will see that there are races on water that are quite serious and this is a major yachting event globally !

It’s the biggest event of the year in Antigua: Colourful costumes,street parades and markets, beauty pageants, talent shows, and live music – it’s one of the best carnivals in the world presenting Antigua Carnival.
Starting July 28 and running until August 8 (so everyone gets to enjoy), the annual celebration takes over all of Antigua! There are all sorts of levels of energy fitting to most everyone so feel very comfortable and welcome. Carnival features a broad range of musical styles, melanging musically the sounds of many cultures such as calypso, steel pan or drum, soca steel drum, reggae. It really is the event of the year. You will have to stay tuned to this page as details are always released late and we will try to cover you but as with many things Antigua you need to just get here.

The carnival this year starts on the 22nd of July and ends August the 2nd. It's already difficult to get flights despite this being in the middle of the slow season for the island. You can dip in and out of the Carnival and pick the best events for you.
