Booking Shirley Heights Sunday Party
25 dollars per person
DO go straight after your Sunday flight arrival and resort checkin. If staying for just a week as you don't want to miss it; will also help your jet lag!
You can visit any other time during normal hours apart from Monday after sundown. In fact, if you want the best photos come during the day. But try to make it on Sunday for the steel pan band and more contemporary Antiguan artists take to the stage. You get to dance on a decent cobblestone courtyard- take sensible flat shoes. There are some great alternative views to be had if you find the lower reaches of the garden and keep going a bit.
Shirley Heights Sunset Party
Open 4 pm to 10 pm every Sunday.
If you are looking to go to the sunset party then you need to organise some transport. We have an excellent transport service for Antigua including Airport Transfers. So we can get you there in comfort and safety. Ask us about going straight there after your flight- if you arrive on a Sunday and you are staying a week. The party is still worth it..and it will help with your fatigue.

The Main Building
The main building also has a bar and you can escape the heat. If there is a persistent negative about Shirley Heights, it can get hot. With the amount of people, the outside shade gets in short supply.

About The Site Area
Shirley Heights has restored historical buildings and a cobblestone courtyard. There are good toilet facilities. Here is where you get the selfie overlooking English Harbour and Nelsons Dockyard. The beach below is Galleon Bay. It's a popular area for hiking and you can learn a lot about the history of Antigua by taking yourself up and around the area. There are guided tours bringing tourists during the daytime. The Sunday party doesn't work for cruise ship visitors. They need to take an organised tour around English Harbour.

Shirley Heights is a beautiful location. We went for the Sunday evening sunset party. The steel drum band was great. The sunset is amazing. Get there early so that you can try and get a spot under the canopy out of the sun. Refreshments are pricey so be prepared for that and the $10 cover charge.

We went for the Sunday evening Sunset Party and it was fabulous. The view was stunning and the steel band so amazing. Once the sun had set, we topped up our drinks and danced to the live band who were excellent. The whole atmosphere was just lovely.

I am so happy I made the 40 min journey from Jolly Beach to visit Shirley Heights. This is great to do on a Sunday evening. There was a steel band followed by a live band that made this party insatiable. But most important, is the sunset view from here. The views are like heaven on earth. A must-see!
