Can you imagine yourself in safe shallow warm waters surrounded by stingrays in their natural environment?
The Stingray City tour can be done as a stand alone visit or as part of other tours taking in the island. The boat trip to the bay is considered one of the trip highlights as the scenery is so breathtaking and the experience so serene. It's a lovely 10 minute ride.
Tours happen via 3 slots 9am 11 am or 1pm every day is stingray day!
After having an opportunity to feed and be photographed with the stingrays, you can snorkel with them and around the reef of the bay from 45 minutes to an hour. The water is shallow and sandy so this isn't great for pure snorkling.
Reviews are consistently high for Stingray City, with the staff praised for their professionalism and customer service. They are especially good with those who are nervous about being so close to the animals and also with children.
Ask us about the combo Stingray and Laviscount island tour taking 2 hours. All the fun of the stingrays plus this relatively new exploration of the charming Laviscount island. There are giant tortoise and iguana, parrots and crabs. A floating dock with gazeebo shaded eating area and disabled ready toilets mean this is an accesible place for more people.
You have the chance to swim with and feed these beautiful creatures, a guide throughout, lunch and beverages.
If you are visiting Stingray City as part of a package tour, then your transportation to and from your hotel will be included.
Several customers have suggested it is a good idea to hire an underwater camera to re-live the experience once finished, as the staff will take photos for you and sell them, but it gets expensive at $20 for each one.
The creatures will come very close to you and brush against your legs (the water is waist high at max), but the staff will explain the best and safest way to intersact at the start of the trip.
Gratuities are not included in the tour cost and are entirely at your discretion.
